The five steps
- You call (567) 290-1960. It's free.
- You describe the job. Leak, storm damage, an aging roof, a porch roof, whatever's going on.
- You're connected with a local roofer. An independent roofing business in the Toledo area.
- The roofer gives you a free quote. Usually after looking at the roof in person.
- You decide. Hire them, get other quotes, or wait. You're never obligated.

How to prepare for the estimate visit
- Know the rough age of your roof and any past repairs.
- Take photos of leaks, stains and anything that blew off.
- Find your homeowners policy if insurance may be involved.
- Make a list of questions; our service pages each have one.
- Decide who should be there. That's up to you, not the roofer.
What a good estimate visit looks like
A good roofer arrives on time or calls ahead if they're running late. They go on the roof or use a drone, take photos, and explain what they found in plain words. The written quote lists the scope: tear-off, decking price, flashing, vents, gutters, permit and cleanup. You should never feel rushed to sign the same day.
Read before you sign
- Get the start date and expected length of the job in writing.
- Check that rotten decking has a per-sheet price.
- Ask who pulls the permit and schedules the final inspection.
- Keep the deposit reasonable, and pay by check or card.
- If the roofer came to your door unasked, Ohio generally gives you three days to cancel (Ohio Attorney General).
What if something goes wrong?
Talk to the roofer first, in writing, and keep copies of the contract, photos and payments. If that doesn't fix it, you can file a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General's Consumer Protection Section at 800-282-0515 and with the Better Business Bureau.
